Farming Outside The Box is dedicated to providing information on Lean Farming and examples of farming innovation. Applying Lean principals to farming can change the way people around the world obtain and eat food. Lean Farming is based on three small principals which are:
1. On a daily basis learn and look for the eight wastes.

2. At a minimum make one small improvement every day to a process or something that bugs you in life.

3. Make a video and share that improvment with others.

Following these three principals over time will result in an amazing lifestyle change that will impact your farm and life in a way you never imagined. This process naturally results in innovation and those ideas will eventually change the world.

Eliminating the eight wastes in farming will result in respect for the earth and the animals that are being raised. This in turn will make for greener farm processes and eliminate many of the concerns associated with large factory farms.

In your calving calculator, where you have e the gestation length for cows at 283 days, if you were to create a “drop down list” for each species cattle, horses, sheep, pigs chickens etc, you could create a gestation calculator for all farm species.
